Chapter 01
Why patios heave and walls lean
Most failed patios fail from underneath. A thin or loosely tamped base lets pavers settle in one corner, water finds the low spot and sits there, and the first hard freeze lifts what the thaw then drops unevenly. Retaining walls fail the same quiet way: when nothing drains behind the wall, water loads the stone until it leans. The stone itself is rarely the problem. The layers under it are.
That's why TJM Yard Enhancing does its own digging in Quakertown and Coopersburg instead of handing the first step to someone else. The crew that cuts the grade is the crew that lays the stone, so the dig is shaped for what goes on top of it, and nobody gets to blame the layer below for a problem they didn't build.

How one crew builds a patio from the dig up
We excavate, set and compact the base, then install Techo-Bloc products. Our installers are Certified ICPI and Certified SRW installers, they receive continuing education, and we attend the Techo-Bloc show every year. The menu includes raised patios, steps and pillars, a fire pit with a sitting wall, an outdoor kitchen with wet bars and a grill, a pergola to shade part of your patio, and pizza ovens.
Retaining walls can pair with driveways using permeable pavers or non-permeable pavers, and we lay patios and pavers around pools. Permeable pavers let rain pass between the stones into the base, while non-permeable pavers shed water across the surface to a planned low point. Which fits depends on the soil and the slope. We'll tackle any kind of project, even the ones that others might not take.

Progress updates, warranty and Techo-Bloc coverage
These projects take time, so we keep you informed of all the progress, unforeseen problems, solutions, timelines, and completion dates so that you know what's happening at any given time. Every dig can turn up a surprise, and we'd rather tell you the day we find it than leave you guessing. We use only in-house staff, so you deal with one company the whole way.
Every installation carries our Three-Year Warranty on Workmanship, and Techo-Bloc warranties are available on the products themselves.
